12-1. Vision of the Divine Teacher

In our religious text, the basic policy is that lord comes down as a teacher and feeds us the wisdom. This is also the basis for worshipping the

monk (acharya) of the mutt as the lord and using his guidance as the key open the lock to get wisdom.

Our Saint nicely clarifies this truth.

The training to get wisdom is to learn to see (or watch) the lord who comes in the form of a teacher to shower his grace. Then say the name of the teacher, to listen to the teacher’s words, and to keep the teacher’s form always in our meditation – all these are ways to get the true wisdom. Our Saint sings this so nicely.

In this song, the word தெளிவு refers to that wisdom. That word also applies to the ways to acquire that wisdom.

So the word தெளிவு is wisdom. It is also the adjective for the ways to acquire the knowledge. He nicely conveys that in the end, the way and the benefit are one and the same. The way ends as the final benefit.

What we see is his form; his holy name is the mantra to chant; listen to his words; contemplate on his form. These are the ways to get wisdom. When fulfilled all this will become the knowledge.
